The Three Rivers Art Project, A non-profit organization founded by Jacob Elbaz, whose goal is to promote young artists and art in the periphery in particular is based in the Upper Galilee.

However, parallel to the Three Rivers Association, which operates in Israel, there is another organization and New York Israeli Galleria that operates in Hudson, New York. The two organizations work in cooperation with various Jewish organizations, synagogues, regional councils, etc. to raise funds and provide financial and social support to enable the development of the new project, enabling the display of Israeli art in a Manhattan based Israeli Galleria.

New York Israeli Gallery and the work of Jacob Elbaz

Jacob Elbaz, the founder and inspiration of the Three Rivers Art project, has previously opened a New York Israeli Gallery in Hudson, New York during his long international career, which also included opening a gallery in Soho working with Andy Warhol and producing prints for artists such as Yaakov Agam, Arie Azan, Nissan Engel and others.

In his own words: "The street is my studio, the people are the colors on my canvas and the camera is my brush".

Hybrid New York Israeli Studio

Plans for this project also include a residency program that will bring artists from both Israel and abroad to the Galilee and offer them the opportunity to live and work in a supportive, inspirational environment, resulting in a hybrid New York – Israeli studio.
